KC Placement Finder helps hospital case managers and families find nursing homes and transitional care (rehab, respite, and recovery housing) with open beds in the Kansas City area. This page explains what information the site collects and how it's used.

We don't collect patient information

Searches on this site are not saved with names, medical details, or any other information about the patient you're placing. You don't need an account to search, and nothing you type into the filters or search box is sent to us or stored anywhere.

Setting a family location on the map

If you type a city, ZIP code, or address to sort facilities by distance, that text is sent to OpenStreetMap's free geocoding service (Nominatim) to convert it into a map location. We don't store what you typed or the resulting location — it only exists in your browser for that visit. The map itself (the street/satellite imagery you see) is also loaded directly from OpenStreetMap, which — like any map or image loaded from a third party — can see your IP address when it serves those tiles.

Facility staff accounts

Nursing home staff can log in to update their own facility's listing (open bed count and which care needs they accept). These accounts are created by the site admin, not by public signup. Login email addresses and passwords are handled by Supabase, our authentication provider, and a staff account can only ever view or edit the one facility it's linked to.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which — like any web host — keeps standard server logs (IP addresses, request times, pages visited) for operating and securing the service.

Advertising

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to personalize ads and measure performance; you can control this through Google's Ad Settings. Visitors from the EU, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent choice before any personalized advertising cookies are set.

What we never do

We don't sell any data. We don't build advertising profiles of our own. We don't ask for or store any information about a specific patient.
